Here you can find information about projects that have been awarded grants by Transforming Waste Scotland
Transforming Waste Scotland was a grant scheme offering almost £4.5 million of funding through the Big Lottery Fund (formerly the New Opportunities Fund) for projects that increased levels of waste reuse, recycling or composting. Launched in February 2003, the scheme allocated grants to dozens of Scottish community groups, including monitoring and support for these groups in carrying out their projects.
In September 2006, the evaluation of the Transforming Waste Scotland grant scheme was completed. The full report is now available to download from this website.
Transforming Waste Scotland aimed to help not-for-profit, community-based organisations develop local solutions to the management of household waste. Eligible groups received grants ranging from £30,000 to £240,000 for projects increasing levels of waste reuse, recycling or composting. Forward Scotland delivers the scheme in partnership with the Recycling Advisory Group Scotland, Keep Scotland Beautiful and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. The final deadline for applications was the 30th of September 2004.
